The Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (DCEI) at Middlesex University Dubai aims to equip students with knowledge of the foundations of their chosen subject area and the skills necessary to apply their discipline to real-world problems. We understand how fast the field of information technology is changing and in order to keep pace with this, it is important that students are provided a platform to keep abreast with emerging technologies. We have formal academic alliances with reputable technology organizations namely EMC, CISCO and SAP which enable us to provide professional development and training to students, free of cost. Cloud Computing, Big Data, Information Storage Management, CCNA and ERP foundation courses are the popular choices. We have state-of-the-art computer engineering and physical computing laboratory which is equipped with the latest CISCO Router and Switches bundles, National Instrument ELVIS Platforms and Telecommunication boards, Labview and Matlab simulation software and various electronic devices to provide maximum hands-on experience to the students. In addition to this lab, students will have access to the general-purpose labs equipped with high speed computers and printers.
The university offers various workshops through the academic enrichment programs to prepare students for transferable skills of academic writing, presentations skills and so on.
