Welcome to the School of Health and Education. At our Dubai campus we offer the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies at the undergraduate level and the MA Education programme at the postgraduate level. The School of Health and Education
is a leading centre for professional education
and research in London. Middlesex has built
a strong reputation as a leading innovator in
higher education. Many of our programmes are
UK firsts and have set the standard for others to
follow. The School is home to some of the UK's
leading researchers in health and education,
with several leading consultants in their
fields, as well as key government advisers.
The BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies programme will cover many
areas of study including; history, psychology,
sociology, leadership and management,
curriculum studies and child development.
There will be opportunities for self-reflection
and you will be able to identify and articulate
your personal competencies through the
many varied opportunities provided.
Those involved in the teaching of Early
Childhood Studies look forward to working
with you. Evidence from student feedback
suggests that the programme provides an
exciting, challenging and personally rewarding
experience shared by students and staff
alike. We wish you well with your studies.
The MA Education offers you the unique ability
to choose your area of specialisation through
opting for the MA Education (Leadership and
Management), the MA Education (Teaching and
Learning) or MA Education (Framework for TESOL.
Practice). The initial areas of study are the same
in each case so you can choose your area of
specialisation in your dissertation.
The MA Education research process prioritises
problem-solving, with a strong emphasis on
design as the medium of change. The application
of theory is channelled through models relevant to
education, leadership and management. Strategies
relevant to action theory and discourse will greatly assist you in structuring your project/dissertation,
which owes much of its success to collaborative
sessions with tutors and other students. You will
also have ample opportunity to relate your studies
to your own professional practice as you complete
the assignments in the programme.
