The Law and Politics Department of Middlesex University Dubai in collaboration with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department and Creative Word is organising, a family law workshop for legal professionals and law students. The event is CLPD accredited by the Dubai Government Legal Affairs Department.
This workshop will be the first in a series of training's, aiming at legal professionals from various backgrounds and will be followed by workshops for family law specialists and the general public.
In line with the Law and Politics department strategy of creating sustainable links with the legal industry in the UAE , the workshop will provide legal training to lawyers of various backgrounds and will offer students the opportunity to develop practical skills required in their future careers and interact with legal professionals.
The workshop focuses on the complex areas of divorce, inheritance and jurisdiction and will involve presentations and a panel discussion with three leading practitioners in the field, as well as case study exercises delivered by Dr Daphne Demetriou, Lecturer at the Law and Politics Department of Middlesex University in Dubai. The workshop’s objective is to equip participants with the necessary skills when dealing with family law issues.
The family law workshop is coordinated by Dr Tenia Kyriazi, Campus Programme Coordinator for the Law and Politics Department of Middlesex University in Dubai and Dr Daphne Demetriou.
