A celebration of Dubai’s multicultural community took over Knowledge Park on 8 December as Middlesex University Dubai celebrated International Day.
With more than 30 countries taking part, the event included performances celebrating the different cultures calling Dubai home, including Bollywood, Palestinian, Bhanghra and Melawiye dancers, a Lebanese Dabke show and performances by the University’s band and dance club.
Other highlights from the day included international food stations, which brought an international flavour to the heart of Knowledge Park. Visitors also had the chance to take home a personalised souvenir courtesy of a master Korean calligrapher.
“With more than 2,500 students from 90 nationalities, Middlesex University Dubai is just one example of the multicultural dynamic which makes Dubai one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities,” said Dr. Cedwyn Fernandes, Director, Middlesex University Dubai. “International Day is a time for us to celebrate those diverse cultures and backgrounds which make the UAE a great place to live and Middlesex University Dubai a great place to learn.”
