After the successful completion of the Emirates NBD Future Intelligence challenge in May, a group of students from Middlesex University Dubai attended an Innovation Focus Group Workshop conducted by Ms. Preeti Mundhra (VP-Head of Portfolio and Value Proposition, Emirates NBD) at Sheraton Creek Hotel on 5th June 2016.
The group comprised of 12 students, coming from undergraduate IT, IS, Engineering and Management programs. The session provided students an opportunity to work in small teams on activities focusing on the theme of Innovation in Digital Banking.
Allen Mathew, Ayoub Mahdavi, Kathy Tavares from Middlesex and a fourth member from another university were awarded an AED 300 gift card for the innovative ideas that their team contributed during the event. Second year BIS student Livia Jacob was awarded for being a proactive speaker.
The students found the experience interesting and exciting. First year Engineering student Jasmita Malik commented “I learnt a lot from my team and others. I grasped a lot of new marketing techniques in the business field being a science student. We had great fun with Ms. Preeti as she kept us busy brainstorming with creative concepts”.
Participation in such events is part of the university’s Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics’ (DCEI) strategy to collaborate with Industry to enhance the student learning experience.
This event was coordinated by Mr. Jaspreet Sethi, Lecturer Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics.
