Middlesex University Dubai, Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics enjoys strong ties with EMC Corporation

At Middlesex University Dubai, we believe that strong ties with the industry are vital for not only providing our students exposure to the industry, but also, enhancing the overall student experience. In line with this philosophy, the department of Computer Engineering and informatics (DCEI) Middlesex University Dubai collaborates closely with technology companies. One of the partnerships we are particularly proud of, is the Academic Alliance (AA) with EMC.  Under the EMC AA umbrella, we have been offering free courses like Information Storage Management and Cloud Infrastructure and services to all the DCEI students along with the opportunity to attain an associate certification. Starting September 2015-16, we plan to add the Data science and Big Data course to the suite of offerings.

We regularly host events and guest speakers with the support of professionals from EMC. On March 06, 2016, Mr. Seetharaman, Balachandar, a Senior Big Data solution architect delivered a talk about Big Data architecture, design and deployment for smart cities projects. On March 07, 2016, EMC Corporation held the region’s first EMC XCHANGE Day with over 150 ICT leaders and professionals sharing ideas and insights on how IT organizations can best tackle emerging challenges in the era of digital transformation. Ms. Marwa Zaghow, the Senior Manager, Global External Partnership Turkey, Middle East & Africa, EMC Academic Alliance revealed EMC’s plans about more ways of collaborating with the Universities, especially on the research front. Dr. Fehmida Hussain, head of DCEI and Ms. Engie Bashir, Lecturer in the DCEI and also the EMC AA coordinator were invited to attend the event to represent the University and celebrate our longstanding relationship with EMC.
