Guest lecture for the students of Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics

Dr. Aboubaker Lasebae, PG Director of Programs, Middlesex University London delivered lecture on Network Security to the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (DCEI) students on  November 23, 2015 . The lecture touched upon the various aspects of Network security and how the two host devices communicate with each other. The process of hacking was explained and general requirements of what is needed to setup a hacking system was explained to the students. The most important precaution to take in securing your network is to be aware that you cannot be 100% secure and never be complacentnt in your security. The various kinds of attacks that can be made against the network and the current mechanisms of protection against these attacks were explained. In conclusion, Dr. Aboubaker encouraged students who are interested to take advanced courses in Network Security and get into this very rewarding profession.  The lecture was well received by the students who learned about the process of network security. The lecture was organized by Dr.Fehmida Hussain, campus programme coordinator for the DCEI, Middlesex University Dubai.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
