We are very happy and proud to announce that the Academy of Law of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Dispute Resolution Authority has generously offered ten scholarships to Middlesex University Dubai LLB students and has invited all full-time faculty to attend for free its first two “Certificate” programs, namely, “Introduction to the DIFC Courts’ Procedures” and “Introduction to the DIFC Laws,” which have started on October 5, 2015.
These courses, accredited by the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department in respect of its CLPD (Continuing Legal Professional Development) scheme for registered legal consultants are delivered in eleven and seven two-hours weekly sessions respectively at the DIFC Courts. The programme forms part of Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Initiatives for Legal Excellence and will be taught in collaboration with leading common law practitioners and DIFC Courts Judges. At the end of the programme all participants will receive a certificate issued by the DIFC Dispute Resolution Authority Academy and Thomson Reuters.
Scholarships have been awarded to the following Y2 Middlesex University Dubai students, based on their academic performance in Y1 :
Navya Pudhukkudi Chanolien, Ruby Oayda, Nina Palec, Celine Mootheden, Arshiya Munir, Hiba Tawfik, Bushra Babar, Alia El-Abiary, Denilde Demate.
Middlesex University Dubai full-time LLB faculty, Tenia Kyriazi, Tommy McDonagh and Lubna Khan, were also offered a complimentary invitation to participate in the programme.
