Middlesex University Dubai Students Chosen as Ambassadors for the EMC Academic Alliance Programme

EMC Forum 2013 – Lead your transformation, a highly coveted technology conference was held on September 10, 2013 at the Atlantis, The Palm Dubai.  The main theme of the conference was how Cloud transforms IT, Big Data transforms Business, and Trust transforms Cloud. Middlesex University Dubai is one of the pioneer institutions in the UAE to partner with EMC and offer emerging information technology courses to IT students under the EMC Academic Alliance programme. As part of this partnership, two Middlesex University Dubai students, Shashank Sridharan and Payal Khubani were nominated as student ambassadors for the Academic Alliance programme at the EMC Forum. They worked very closely with Ms. Marwa Zaghow, Senior Programme Manager, University Relations for Turkey, Middle East & Africa. They were responsible for hosting the EMC Academic Alliance booth, sharing with delegates information about the EMC Academic Alliance programme. “As a student ambassador it was a great pleasure to represent Middlesex University at the event and share our experiences with professors, industry experts and professionals,” commented Shashank.

After the successful completion of the Cloud Infrastructure and Services course in 2012/2013, the School of Science and Technology plans to offer Information Storage and Management and Big Data and Analytics courses to IT students in the 2013/2014 academic year. The EMC courses at Middlesex University Dubai are being co-ordinated and taught by Dr Fehmida Hussain and Engie Bashir from the  School of Science and Technology.
