Dr. Krishnadas Nanath, Senior Lecturer in the department of Science and Technology at Middlesex University was invited as a guest speaker at Gitex Conference 2014. In his talk Cloud Computing Rising Above the Cloud ! Dr. Krishnadas talked about the best practices in Cloud Computing for UAE Government to adopt. The theme of the conference was “Empowering GCC Smart Government Technologies” and the session was attended by senior UAE Government officials who were keen to learn smart methods for live implementation in areas like Cloud Computing, Social Media and Big Data Analytics. His session was well received by the government organizations and business groups as it exposed them to smart decision making (ROI, NPV calculations for cloud) and efficient designs for cloud implementation.
Dr. Krishnadas Nanath is currently a faculty at Middlesex University Dubai in Information Systems area. His doctoral work at Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM K) was in the area of Green IT and Cloud Computing. He is also the lead corporate trainer for Cloud Computing (GSTF) in Singapore. He received his bachelors in Computer Science Engineering and has successful corporate experience with Microsoft Research and Honeywell. He was awarded the ‘SAS student Ambassador’ in 2011 and was invited to present his research at SAS Forum (USA). With other awards like ‘Best International PhD Student Award’ (adjudged and invited by Univ. of South Australia), ‘Wings of Excellence Award ’ (Switzerland), “Emerald Research Fund Award” (for his thesis proposal), “Wipro Earthian Award 2011”, “AIMS international Outstanding Doctoral Student Award”, “TCS Smart Manager” and several best papers awards at conferences and colloquium, he demonstrates a strong research potential and flair for problem solving. He has also been a guest speaker at several occasions including SAP Labs, GE IT Leadership Program, IEEE Computer Society, TEDx, Leadership Series etc. He has published papers and case studies in journals and conferences in the areas of Green IT, Cloud Computing and Social entrepreneurship.
