I would like to introduce myself as the new Vice-Chancellor of Middlesex University. I am extremely proud to join such a creative, enterprising and global university, and feel privileged to be leading the institution to our next chapter.
I joined Middlesex from The Open University (OU) where I was Pro Vice-Chancellor and then Acting Vice-Chancellor. At the OU, and before that in my role as Dean for Durham University’s campus in Stockton, I worked closely with partners from different sectors, sharing ideas about how we could be better by working together, and taking forward some exciting and ground-breaking collaborations.
I want Middlesex to work closely with our educational partners, businesses and the professions to make a positive difference through our teaching, research and enterprise. We are a global university with a worldwide network of campuses in Dubai, Mauritius, Malta, and students from 133 countries. Our international outlook will be increasingly important to our students and to our future.I want us to provide a truly global education, preparing our students for international careers and as 21st century global citizens, whether starting or growing a business or in public or voluntary services.
Middlesex University is becoming a leading university of choice because it puts students first and focuses its research on real-world challenges.I am committed to our role in transforming the lives of our students, the future professionals and entrepreneurs whose knowledge and skills will make tomorrow better.
It is a privilege to take over the helm from Professor Michael Driscoll and to build on his successful legacy.
