Q1. What made you choose Middlesex University?
Middlesex University is a well reputed UK university in Dubai with honors degree compare to other universities in Dubai.
Q2. What aspects of your course did you enjoy most?
The courses were a combination of theoretical and practical activities which enhanced our learning and understanding of our relative field.
Q3. What is your fondest memory of life at Middlesex?
There are many, but mainly would be the various extra curricular I was part of. For the time being it seems stressful but when you look back, they contributes to your personality the most because that's what you chose to do out of your own will.
Q4. What one piece of advice would you give to a prospective student interested in studying at Middlesex?
It's good to have fun and enjoying the 3 or 4 golden years of your life but keep the balance of fun and studies both, as you will cherish both the aspect the most in your nearby future. Get to know the most people, get along with everyone.
Q5. Where has your professional life taken you since graduation?
It's unmeasurable but in terms of finance if I measure it to my 3 years of time in Middlesex, it would be at a growth rate of 50% with prospect of more.
Q6. Can you give an example of a time when you put the things you learned at Middlesex to practical use?
Among the boundless examples, the majorly effective example would be the excessive use of spreadsheet/excel. Being from finance course, the extensive set of knowledge given to us during our course of using excel in regards to finance was highly useful.
Q7. What made you choose the industry you work in and what are its pros and cons?
My industry is as of Corporate Finance in which my duties are more of a business/financial analytics. The reason I chose this as it challenges your brain to be more of a thinker, decision maker and a solution finder. It's a creative work as you come across different situations and challenges and hence the never ending growth. However, it can be frustrating at times to come to right and accurate decisions.
Q8. What are the top three tips you would give to current students and recent graduates who are looking for a similar career to yourself?
The 3 tips would be:
- Do not limit yourself to what you have learned during the 3 years of your course. As the learning only helps you to step towards your career goals but it's your learning after you have stepped in which takes you further.
- Focus on Learning and not growing as the growth of you is followed by the learning and depth of understanding.
- Every information is a useful information.
Q9. What one piece of advice would you give to the 17/18 year old you?
Focus on what you enjoy doing the most, choose it as your career and work towards it. Your chances of achieving your goals would be much higher.
